Air & Ocean Market Update | 15 October 2024

US dockworkers and port operators reached a tentative agreement to end strikes on 4 October.  Due to the short length of the strikes and the measures taken before the strikes by carriers, the ongoing delays from congestion are proving to be minimal, ports are operating well with very little delay.
 
Mainfreight has been working with the carriers to have surcharges removed, please see an updated table below.



CMA CGM have indicated they may apply Force Majeure to recover costs for any containers delayed or requiring redelivery due to the strike, other carriers are likely to do the same. Should any additional costs arise, these will be passed through at cost.
