Service Announcement - Cyclone Alfred Impacts Freight Movements

Cyclone Alfred continues to move toward the Queensland coast, bringing heavy rainfall, flooding, and strong winds. As a result, sea freight has been impacted, and air freight is also experiencing delays.

For the safety of our team and operations, all our transport and warehousing branches in Brisbane, Narangba, and the Gold Coast will remain closed today, Thursday, March 6, and tomorrow.

We are closely monitoring the situation and remain prepared for any further disruptions.

Road Freight

Our Transport branches in Brisbane, Narangba and Gold Coast will remain closed today, Thursday, March 6, and tomorrow.

We are doing everything we can to minimise any disruptions to your service, but please be aware that delays may occur due to the backlog of freight movements during this time. Rest assured, we will work closely with any customers affect to manage the impact.

Warehousing

Our warehousing branches in Brisbane will remain closed today, Thursday, March 6, and tomorrow.

Sea Freight

Under the direction of Maritime Safety Queensland’s Regional Harbour Master, all inbound shipping movements at the Port of Brisbane have been suspended due to unsafe conditions. Outbound vessels under pilotage may depart during daylight hours today, weather permitting.

Air Freight

Our Brisbane Air & Ocean team will be working remotely today, Thursday, March 6, and tomorrow. During this time, there will be no pickups or deliveries.

A number of flights are being suspended, and Brisbane airport terminal operations will be suspended between 6th and 7th. As the safety of our teams are top priority, our airfreight & perishable depot will be CLOSED, and our teams will be working from home. We will assess the situation again on Friday and provide an update.

We appreciate your patience as we navigate these disruptions. Our team will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available. If you need further assistance, please reach out to your local Mainfreight branch.
